About us
A relatively new organisation in Auckland, AYP is based on the successful models of Christchurch and Wellington, both of which have gained significant memberships of young professionals attracted by the chance for development and fun times.
As New Zealand’s biggest and most internationally recognised city, Auckland is the perfect location for such an organisation. Whether it’s so they can further their careers overseas, bringing back valuable experience and expertise in the future, or in an effort to build a life and career here in New Zealand, young professionals in the City of Sails are hungry for opportunities to meet like-minded people and develop the skills to take them to the top of their chosen field. AYP is happy to provide those opportunities.

Kat Warner – SecretaryAge: 28 My dream job is hard to define because I prefer a job with challenges and unpredictability, but it is hard to work in these environments while managing stress levels. I look up to most of my family because they are taller than me. My favourite place to eat is the Ponsonby Foodcourt because the food is good, prices are reasonable, and it is great for a group of people who have a range of food preferences. Darren Dettling - TreasurerAge: 26 My dream job is to be a professional snowboarder traveling the worlds skifields. I look up to Sir Michael Hill, I saw him speak recently and he has achieved so much by setting long term goals. My favourite place to eat is Fatimas because I love their Potato Koftas! I love Auckland because there are just so many things to do in Auckland. Just like the ad, Auckland is a great big little city. Marcel Roos - MembershipCompany: Intern New Zealand My dream job is a Tropical Water Researcher because then you get to travel heaps, scuba and after work hang out on the beach. I look up to the Skytower because it is an amazing structure. I wish I had owned this piece of architecture. My favourite bar is Felix in Hong Kong because it’s on the 88th floor, has got see through toilets while overlooking the city, and is located in the Peninsula Hotel.
