Creative disrupter, Mike Hutcheson (aka Hutch) is a serial start-up guy – He has founded
or co-founded a number of companies including leading advertising agencies, Colenso,
and HKM and finished his advertising career as managing director at Saatchi & Saatchi in
Auckland.
He is also a zany word maestro. He’s published four books and his writings are often
published in The Independent and Idealog magazine.
Mike’s Masters thesis was titled ‘The alchemy of creativity in New Zealand Business’ and
his conclusion: that our challenge is to solve the paradox around the fact we [NZer’s] are
generalists, and fearless and good at inventing things, but not good at implementing our
ideas into scalable businesses that create jobs.
