AYP Charitable Trust
The AYP Charitable Trust is a charitable trust established under a Declaration of Trust in New Zealand, with Trustees appointed to hold and apply trust property in accordance with its charitable purposes.
It operates as a separate legal entity, with Trustees responsible for governance and decision-making in line with the Trust Deed and their duties under New Zealand law. The Trustees must act in accordance with the terms of the Trust and in furtherance of its charitable purposes.
The Trust’s charitable purposes are the advancement of education and other purposes beneficial to the community in New Zealand, including but not limited to:
Advancing education through seminars and knowledge-sharing platforms relating to economics, governance, business practice, and financial literacy
Supporting individuals and communities to expand their educational and knowledge base
Identifying and helping remove barriers to entry into education and professional participation
Encouraging upskilling, retention, and development of talent for the benefit of the wider community
Co-operating with other organisations with similar charitable objects
The Trust may receive donations, grants, sponsorships, bequests, and other forms of funding, which are applied to advancing these charitable purposes. This includes the ability to provide educational programmes, events, training, and financial assistance such as grants or scholarships.
The Trust also has the ability to co-operate with the AYP Society and other organisations, and to support or engage with initiatives that align with its charitable purposes, provided they fall within the advancement of education and other legally charitable objectives.
